New Tripoli Bank is seeking a Part-Time Community Banker, with the availability to work Saturday mornings.
Performs a variety of duties to support the paying and receiving function of the community bank office of which the following are illustrative:
- Accepts deposits of various account types.
- Cashes checks within the approved authority and operating policy.
- Sells Cashier’s Checks, Money Orders, Certified Checks, etc.
- Accepts loan payments, safe deposit box rent, utility payments, and other related payments.
- Processes night deposits and mail deposits.
- Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Maintains an awareness of new business opportunities with customers; actively refers customers to appropriate customer service personnel.
- Maintains an approved level of cash; turns in excess and mutilated cash and checks for counterfeit bills.
- Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions; balances cash drawer accurately and efficiently on a daily basis (Branch Capture).
- Prepares daily work for delivery to the operations area.
- Processes general ledger accounts related to the paying and receiving function, e.g., Utilities, Coin, inter-bank accounts, etc.
- Prepares reports relating to the function, e.g., currency transaction, BSA reports, etc.
- Coin counting service for customers. Cross-sells other deposit, loan, and internet banking products to customers when appropriate.
- Settle ATM on a daily basis and process ATM transactions.

- Annual safe deposit box inventory and delinquent account follow-up.
Qualifications:
- Prior banking experience preferred
- High School Diploma
- Proficient PC/typing skills
- Occasionally must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- May remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Customer Service experience
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, with Saturday morning hours.

Responsible for promoting the bank in a positive way through building and maintaining customer relationships though the account opening process and on the teller line. Assist new and existing bank customers with more complex inquiries, account openings and account maintenance. Have advanced knowledge on bank products and services. Through relationship building, promote and educate customers on bank product and services and refer them to proper team members, when appropriate.
Essential Duties
- Provide Community Banker duties to ensure accurate operations while providing a full range of transactional services. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Accepting deposits and withdrawals of various account types
- Maintain and verify cashbox totals to keep within bank limits.
- Cashing checks within the approved authority and operating policy
- Accepting loan payments, safe deposit box rents, and other related payments
- Complete wire transfer paperwork efficiently and accurately.
- Perform a variety of duties to support the consumer services function, these duties include but are not limited to:
- Opening and maintaining new accounts, as well as gathering customer information to process new and existing accounts.
- Aid the customer service team involved in soliciting new business from present and prospective customers. Also, build and maintain ongoing business relationships with new and present customers to promote additional bank products and services.
- Provide customer service information on a timely basis in order it may be included as part of monthly and year-to-date performance reports. May also be assigned to review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accuracy and follow-up.
- Attain complete working knowledge of all bank products and services, including features and benefits, to meet and educate the financial needs of the customer. This knowledge is to include but not limited to deposit products, IRA’s, internet banking, merchant services, wealth management, credit cards etc.
- Exemplify extraordinary customer service with the ability to ask questions and identify customer needs to enhance the customer relationship and cross selling opportunities, when appropriate.
- Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary, aid and resolve customers with specific inquiries or service within authority. Seek manager approval for exceptions to normal bank procedures.
- Red flags for customer fraud and scams
- Review out of ordinary transactions and report it to management immediately
- The ability to teach the customer of popular scams and how to avoid being a victim
- Promote bank services to help prevent customers from being victims of fraud/scams (online banking alerts, informational brochures, card hub, checking online banking daily etc.)
- Refer lending inquiries to proper Loan Officer
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information and customer introductions/transitions.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), bank CIP program, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
- Responds to inquiries or to requests from customers, other bank team members, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
- Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
- Ability to fill in as Community Banker.
- Regular and predictable attendance is expected and is an essential function of the job.
Ancillary Duties
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
